International Guest Lectureship Programme (IGL)

Applications for the International Guest Lectureship Programme can be submitted during the year. You can submit your application at any time up to four semesters in advance. Please use the "Application Form IGL Call for Applications" (see below). Please note that you must provide detailed information on the following points in order to submit your application:

• Existing formal cooperation with the sending institution or planning of a formal cooperation.
• Fit of the event into the internationalisation strategy of the Faculty
• Fit of the event into the Faculty's teaching programme.

In addition, you must enclose with your application a written confirmation from the dean's office that the costs of 20% of the total stay will be covered (see below for the dean's statement) as well as a course outline and the CV of the guest.

Please submit the application form including attachments as a pdf to igl@uni-bielefeld.de .
If any documents are missing from the application, they can be submitted later.

Decisions on the approval or rejection of applications are usually made twice a year. In the Winter semester, the committee makes its decision in November and in the Summer semester in May. Deadlines for consideration of your application in the respective semester are 1 October and 1 April. Please keep an eye on our website for the latest information.

In the case of nominations for guest lectureships within the NEOLAiA network, the application will be assessed independently of the deadlines and re-enrolment will be given promptly.

For a stay of one semester, 6 SWS of teaching are assumed. These can be remunerated with a maximum of 2500€ per month.
For shorter stays, the teaching is remunerated accordingly with 100€ per hour of teaching.
